With five placings from seven starts, Circle Of Power will have one last chance to register a win as a two-year-old when he lines up in the Rosebud Quality at Rosehill.

Circle Of Power took on some of the better juveniles in Sydney earlier this season and trainer Rod Craig said he had returned a more mature racehorse after being gelded following his fourth to Masquerader in the Group Two Todman Stakes in March.

Craig is more than happy to give Circle Of Power his chance in Saturday's The Rosebud (1200m) at the final race meeting of the season, and indicated he could be set for the Group One Spring Champion Stakes over 2000m later this preparation.

"I would be looking at some of the better-class races for him," Craig said.

"He's got to prove he's up to the better-class horses but he's mixed it with the best so far and I think when he gets to 1500 metres and a mile (1600m) he'll be a much better horse.

"I don't know exactly what races I'll target with him but I'd certainly be looking at something like the Spring Champion (on October 1)."

Circle Of Power resumed over 1250m at Canterbury last Wednesday week when finishing third in a race won by the Peter Snowden-trained Quidnunc.

Craig said the son of Arena had to do a lot of work from a wide barrier and was left a sitting shot.

"Quite a few of the good horses didn't accept for the race (Rosebud), it's not an easy race but he pulled up really well from his first-up run and I'm more than happy to be running him," he said.

Circle Of Power was installed as a $21 chance for The Rosebud with TAB Sportsbet on Thursday with the Gai Waterhouse-trained Crossbow the $2.20 favourite.

Fernhill Handicap runner-up Howdiddydoit, who resumes in The Rosebud, is the equal second favourite at $6.50 along with Champagne Stakes runner-up Sasa.

Trainer Rick Worthington said Howdiddydoit would kick off in The Rosebud and then go one of two ways.

"He'll then go either to the Run To The Rose and then Golden Rose, or he'll go to the Up And Coming Stakes and then go through a traditional path to races over a mile."

Worthington has only given Howdiddydoit one barrier trial ahead of his return to keep him on the fresh side.

"He's not cranked up for a first-up kill but he'll go well on Saturday and improve into his preparation," he said.
