Tasmanian invader I'm A Hussy humiliated an in-form field of Victorian mares scoring a four length win in the $100,000 CFMEU Eight Hour Labour Day Plate (1200m) at Moonee Valley.

I'm A Hussy ($3.90) lead from barrier to box and punters were able to line up early as jockey Ben Melham opened up a winning margin upon turning for home going on to score a soft win by four lengths over Ariarni ($7.60) with a further length to Ocean Challenger ($3.70) who finished third after sitting at the winners flank for much of the event.

Scott Brunton who trains the horse in partnership with his father David described the five-year-old mare as a revelation.

"She has been a revelation for us this preparation," said Brunton who also saddles up Lady Lynette and Life To The Full.

"People keep asking to compare her to Lady Lynette and all I can say is I hope she is as good."

It was the third win on the trot for the Tasmanian mare which included a listed victory in the Eliza Park Vamos Stakes at Launceston but Brunton doesn't expect to see her racing again in Tasmania any time soon.

"She will only be heading to Tassie for spells now," he joked after the win.

Melham, who is riding a wave of success in Victoria currently, had the opportunity to ride the mare at her last Tasmanian start and was supremely confident she would measure up.

"She showed me a lot of ability in Tassie and I knew she was fit enough to come over here and win," said Melham.

"I tried catch me if you can tactics and it worked."

Melham expects bigger things from the finely built daughter of star Tasmanian sire West Quest.

"She is built like a whippet and had a bit of racing this time in but she will be just as good on top of the ground."

The victory takes I'm A Hussy's career earnings to $150,000 and her win tally to six from just eleven starts.
