Stewards Determine Lismore Track 'In Fine Order'
An inspection of Lismore Racecourse by NRRA Chief Steward Craig Pringle yesterday revealed a track in surprisingly good order, despite good rainfall over the weekend.
Nominations close today at 11am for the Annual Pork Industry Raceday to be conducted next Monday (15th February) and owners & trainers have been keen to find out the condition of the track.
The racecourse received 55mls of rain over the past 72 hours and missed out on the heavier falls that occurred further north towards the Gold Coast.
“There is absolutely no surface water on any section of the track and the rain has soaked in quite well. I have currently rated the track a 'Slow 6' and expect it to improve significantly if the club receives no significant rainfall in the next few days," said Mr Pringle.
"Lismore has not raced since before Christmas and the grass coverage is superb. In fact the staff are currently mowing the track which will allow the surface to dry out better over the next few days.”
