American jockey Erillus Vaz, who will be remembered for punching and hitting fellow rider Ademar Santos at Philadelphia Park on January 8, has been suspended for 200 days by stewards.

Santos couldn’t avoid the wrath of the stewards either for his part of the fracas, receiving a 90-day suspension.

In determining their penalty, stewards determined Vaz instigated the unsavoury incident.
