The result of a Maiden two-year-old race at Kyneton a couple of weeks could have been much different but for the scratching of Psychologist.

Trainer Tony Vasil had to back his judgement to go to the provincial meeting or wait for another day.

The astute Caulfield-based trainer knew he had pulled the right rein after riding the filly’s work on her home track two days later.

Her work was sensational convincing Vasil, there was only one place for her in the Blue Diamond Prelude last Saturday.

Her value has gone through the roof after that win with that bit of precious Black Type.
