Raging favourite Atlantic Jewel has been ruled out of Thursday's Victorian Oaks with a leg injury.

Atlantic JewelThe unbeaten filly racked up her fifth win in Saturday's Group Two Wakeful Stakes at Flemington when she beat the other Oaks contenders by seven lengths.

But trainer Mark Kavanagh's Oaks dream was shattered on Sunday when she was found to have pulled a hamstring, bringing her spring campaign to an end.

Kavanagh rates Atlantic Jewel potentially the best horse he has trained.

New Zealand filly Dowager Queen who ran third in the Wakeful, is now the likely favourite for the Classic.
