Since the feats of the Paul Perry trained Choisir in 2003, Australians have taken an increasing interest in Royal Ascot.

That interest has swelled primarily due to the record of Australian horses in the King's Stand Stakes (1000m).

In the last seven years, four Australians (Choisir, Takeover Target, Miss Andretti & Scenic Blast) have won the race.

This year, there are three Australian horses striving to bring home Group 1 glory. Nicconi and Gold Trail will contest the King's Stand Stakes while Alverta will run in the Golden Jubilee Stakes (1200m) against multiple Australian Group 1 winner Starspangledbanner.
